Film title and details: Gorilla Hunt (1926)

Gorilla Hunt is the first known film footage of gorillas in their natural habitat, recorded by adventurer Ben Burbridge in Africa. Venturing through remote jungles, Burbridge captured nearly a dozen small gorillas by wrestling them to the ground. Physical and cultural hardships contribute greatly to the drama of the expedition’s achievements: Burbridge purchases the loyalty of a native tribe with gifts of salt and safety pins, defends himself against lions and elephants, and cross a crocodile-infested river.
