Film title and details: Chang (1927)
  Film stills: Chang (1927)

King Kong directors Cooper and Schoedsack travelled to northern Siam (Thailand) to make this film about villagers’ daily struggles against nature in the jungle. A group of Christian missionaries led the film-makers to the Nan province and helped them find local people to play the roles of the central family. The film has endured because of its spectacular footage — close-ups of jumping tigers and the first elephant stampede captured on film.
