To win the heart of a Stone Age beauty, three cavemen are set the task of hunting the evening meal, pitting their wits (or lack thereof) against the numerous dangers of their prehistoric world. The film’s director, Willis O’Brien, was a special effects pioneer and is lauded as the father of stop-motion animation, producing dinosaurs and other prehistoric figures for a series of short films.
